Previous: World Wide Web
- ability to have multimedia documents
- hypertext/hypermedia capability
- WWW networked basis, allowing for distance learning
- public domain client/server software and editing tools in
general
- training centres can distribute the knowledge on a large
scale (to the entire world)
- reduction of mailing costs: Internet allows distribution of
pages without the overhead associated to printing costs and transport
- all information can be corrected and updated in one go for all
users from only one server site
- internet allows for collaborative writing
- allows for students to give feedback more easily
Just browsing through the web is already an educational experience in
itself, "accidental learning".
University Texas, Austin maintains a "world Lecture Hall", they make all
lectures available on the Web by degree/subject from various
