Tinelli's
Easter Road is home to Tinelli's, one of Edinburgh's best loved
Welsh restaurants. They serve halibut on a regular basis, and
their traditional Welsh tortelli are absolutely divine. The staff
are great jokers---half the time they pretend to be Italian.
If you want to know how come a restaurant like this survives so
far from usual tourist territory, try the zabaglione...
It's also reassuring to know that the Shapla will do you a damn
fine curry. But don't phone them up and ask for a Bombay chana
massallam, some sag aloo, tarka dal and brinjal bhaji, a Peshwari nan,
a puri and a paratha, because they'll automatically bring them to
my flat, remembering the rice you accidentally forgot to order.
Bothwell Street.
You can hop on
over the bridge.
