Some General Points

Java is still a very young programming language, and it is growing at a huge rate. For this reason Java Support cannot hope to keep abreast of the complete Java Product range and confines official support to what is already a small subset of the available API's. Presently this includes:

The current JDK release, with all the included core API's. Although even when 1.2 becomes the official release, support for 1.1 will continue until such time as it is deemed unnecessary.
The BDK: Beans Development Kit, the java method for component based programming. Although java beans have become an integral part of the core API, the BDK lives on as a demonstration and testing tool.
Pizza and GJ: An extension to the java language Pizza and GJ introduce generic types as an added tool with in the java programming environment.

Presently some extensions to the core API's have been installed. These include JavaCC, and InfoBus. The installation of these extensions will proceed based on user demand. If you require an API or some other extension then please let the Java Support team know and we will try our best to provide a solution - the more information you give us the quicker we can respond. Note that if the extension you require costs money you are unlikely to get it installed on the network.

Also note that the Java Support team consists of only one person, and that this one person has many other responsibilities, so please be patient.
