Once the well-known James Deuchar brewery, Lochside has been a distillery
since 1957. The premises are on a filled-in loch, hence the name. Lochside
is in Montrose. Since 1973 the distillery has been in Spanish ownership and
much of its maltgoes into the Distilieras y Crienza blended whisky, a major
product in Spain. In Scotland there is also a good splash of Lochside in the
Sandy Macnab's blend.
