| A thought provoking short paper abut why the web may be a useful intermediate format for reengineering tools. By using the tags, extensibility, platform
independence, search facilities, scalability, familiar interface and readily available tools of the web and major browsers, they argue that an HTML format provides a
low cost option which could readily gain adoption and deployment amongst an established user base.
They state that legacy system undergoing user interface reengineering are often provided with a web based front-end.
