Term 3

The first half of Term 3 will be spent on the System Design Project (weeks 1 to 4) and the Professional Issues module (Tuesdays and Wednesdays, weeks 1 to 5, at 12:00-13:00). There are some associated events (all dates and times provisional):

Date Time Venue Event
First day of term (Tue. 16th April 2002) 09:00-11:00 LT B Start of System Design Project
Friday of week 4 (10th May 2002) morning Machine Halls System Design Project demonstrations
13:00-17:00 LT A System Design Project presentations
Wednesday of week 5 (15th May 2002) 12:00-13:00 Adam House Professional Issues Examination

The rest of the term will be spent on revision and the exams for the technical modules. Examinations normally take place in weeks 7 and 8 (but it's fairly common for some exams to happen in Week 6 too). The examination timetable is not known until some time in Term 3, at which point the course organiser will send a message to the CS3 newsgroup.

Note that it's entirely normal for some people to end up with examination timetables that do not allow them time for revision between examinations. There is no limit on how closely packed exams can be: only outright clashes are cause for complaint. In addition, the System Design Project will keep you very busy at the beginning on Term 3. To maximise your chances of doing well in the exams, do not leave the revision until the last minute!
