Personal Information:

I originally come from a nice village called Brinkum, near Bremen, Germany. Before I came to Edinburgh I studied Computer Science for Business at the Fachhochschule Flensburg (University for applied sciences) in Germany. My project work was supervised by Professor Knorr. Professor Weber convinced me with his lectures that databases are an interesting research area.

Then I worked for the software house HEC GmbH in Bremen, Germany. This company is a subsidiary of SNI AG. We developed MS-Windows software accessing client/server databases.
