How to Register
- Fill in the Web form at the end of this page, and click the
"submit" button. You will then see a page with payment instructions;
you will also receive email confirmation.
If you have queries about registration, please email
csl02+local@dcs.ed.ac.uk before filling in the form.
- Follow the instructions for payment. We accept payment by two
means:
- Credit/debit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Switch.
Please print the page that will be generated
when you press the "submit" button, fill in your card
details, and fax it according to the instructions.
- Cheque or money order: send a cheque or money order in
sterling drawn on a UK bank to the address given in your
registration acknowledgment.
- University of Edinburgh participants may also pay by
internal transfer
Fees
The conference registration fee covers attendance, proceedings, coffee
breaks, welcome reception and the conference dinner.
It does not include lunches. Information on the many lunch
possibilities will be provided to attenders.
Accommodation is not included in the registration fee.

The fee is £200 for early registration, or £270 for late
registration. Early registration is available until 26 July
2002. Please note that payment for early registration must be received
by 31 July or ten days after registration (whichever is the later), or
the late fee will be charged.
Some student reductions are available: see below.
Tutorials
Two tutorials will be held on Saturday 21
September,
one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The fee for attending
tutorials is £15 each, which covers coffee breaks and any notes
that are issued.
Student discounts
The United Kingdom's Engineering and
Physical Sciences Research Council is sponsoring a limited number
of discounted student places. If you wish to apply for one of these
places, please fill in the appropriate section of the form. Places
will be allocated according to EPSRC's priorities for registrations
received by 19 July. Remaining places will be allocated at the
discretion of the local organizers. The student discount offers a
reduction of £100 in the applicable fee. Please note that all
full-time students can apply.
Extra dinner places
Additional places for the conference dinner should be
requested at the time of registration. The availability of additional
places cannot be guaranteed until nearer the time; if it is necessary
to limit additional places, they will be allocated in order of request.
Cancellation charges
In the event of cancellation, refunds will be made as follows:
- Cancellation up to 19 July: refund of full payment apart from a
£10 administration fee.
- Cancellation after 19 July and up to 23 August: refund of 75% of
the full payment.
- Cancellation after 23 August and up to 15 September: refund of 50% of
the full payment.
- Cancellation after 15 September: no refund.
Please note that refunds will be made in sterling, and will generally
not be processed until after the conference.
