classic client/server design
A DBI Proxy Server (not a WWW proxy server)
runs on the machine with the target database. In
the common case, this might be an NT machine
A DBI Proxy Client which is a Perl script that
uses the DBD::Proxy driver to make a
connection as opposed to the `real’ DBD
