Game Device GUI Application

GUI
The Window Dressing application

The game device GUI application is called "Window Dressing" and can be found in e:\WinDressing\ on the SLIP machine. It handles communication between Windows and VCC and provides user I/O for the game simulation.

The screen of the game device responds to mouse clicks and sends these to VCC. It also displays any graphics that are output from the VCC simulation. The GUI application connects to the VirtualIO symbol in VCC, which is already provided.

To connect to VCC, open as many Window Dressing applications as there are game devices in the VCC simulation. Click command/connect in each application and enter the client name of a game device. Finally click connect to attempt the connection. Window Dressing will now wait until the VCC simulation is started and will connect to each game device automatically.

More information about Window Dressing can be found here on last year's web site.
