I was asking for that. Roughly: Unto the root is born a brother. It comes from Multics which uses an heirarchical file system similar to Unix, but rather more robust. Make that a lot more robust - it just didn't get screwed up. Except one day it did. At a major auto manufacturer. On a holiday. There was a hardware error that caused the system to think it had 2 root volumes, an obvious impossibility and the code that was never supposed to execute printed out that message. First they had to find somebody to translate the message, then find out what it meant. It's rather amusing now, but at the time management was, shall we say, less than pleased :-)
