Distillation
Malt whisky is a batch process performed in copper pot stills. Scotch Malt
Whisky is usually distilled twice - once to produce an intermediate product
known as 'low wines' then again to create the final spirit. One or two
distilleries (and notably the Irish malt distillery, Bushmills)
distil three times.
