Dumfries and Galloway
Dumfries and Galloway ocupy the major part of a blunt projection of south-west
Scotland
into the Irish Sea. This is a somewhat isolated corner of Scotland, cut off
from the main cities and transport corridors by a range of hills and is
rich in Celtic history. It saw the beginnings of
Christianity in Scotland, and has associations with Robert the Bruce.
It is an area of rolling hills and wooded valleys and is home for the
Ladyburn and
Bladnoch distilleries
