Gleaned from the Malts mailing list:
Q: Has anyone ever tasted/heard of Glen Blair? The label has no age of contents displayed. It was distilled by Burn Stewart and other than the usual 40% alc. vol there is not much else on the label, although the words "Pure malt" also appear. It tasted like a Highland to the best of my recollection. There is no distillery named Glen Blair (and if there is, it has kept VERY quiet!) and, given that the label says 'pure malt', it doesn't appear to be a single in some IB disguise. Burn Stewart own Tobermory and Deanston distilleries so [...] maybe it's a vatting of malt whiskies of those two?? [ak 69/3.98]Stephan Gabanyi's "Whisk(e)y", p121 is sparse on Glen Blair, but notes it as Burn Stewart's best selling vatted malt. [rk 69/3.98] [ds 70/3.98]
