http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/mlj
The new release of MLj is out, and you can fetch it from the above
distribution site at Edinburgh. There is an accompanying mlj-users
mailing list, and as a registered user of MLj 0.1 you have been
automatically placed on the list. Welcome.
- To post to the list, send mail to <mlj-users@dcs.ed.ac.uk>.
You can contact the MLj team directly at <mlj@dcs.ed.ac.uk>.
- To find out more about the list, send the message
"info mlj-users" to <majordomo@dcs.ed.ac.uk>.
- To remove yourself from the list, send the message
"unsubscribe mlj-users" to <majordomo@dcs.ed.ac.uk>.
The mailing list will carry notices of all developments in the MLj
language, its compiler and distribution.
About MLj 0.2
-------------
The latest version of MLj has many improvements over the first
release.
- Faster compilation times (x4).
- Better code generation.
- More complete Basis Library support.
- Better error messages
- Friendlier language extensions for the ML/Java interface.
The MLj compiler is now open source, distributed under the GNU
Public License, version 2. This means, for example, that you can
freely consult the source code and pass it on to others.
The abrupt closure of Persimmon IT's Cambridge office means that
MLj 0.2 is something of a "snapshot" release; we apologise for any
rough edges. The original authors continue to develop the compiler,
and have a number of further enhancements in hand.
