1 The Harlequin License Server

1.3 Setting MLWorks up to use the license server

Setting MLWorks up to use the license server is quite simple. Just set the UNIX environment variable MLWORKS_LICENSE to the value server in the shell from which you intend to start MLWorks up. For example, in the Bourne shell (sh) you would type:

MLWORKS_LICENSE=server
export MLWORKS_LICENSE

When this environment variable setting is in force and you start MLWorks up in the usual way, MLWorks will attempt to get a license from the license server.

For convenience, you can add these lines to the shell environment initialization file for your shell, which can be found in the env subdirectory of the MLWorks installation. Remember that you must still include this file in your .profile or similar shell initialization script to run it.
