Experiencing Quantitative Computer Architecture
This is the home page for the practical work associated
with the third-year Computer Science (CS3) module on
Computer Architecture. The documentation for each assignment
is currently available, but full software distributions are
are not yet in place. These will be ready during summer '98.
From here you will be able to download all the resource material for
the practical element within the computer architecture
module.
The course textbook is Hennessy and Patterson
Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach,
which is available now in its second edition. This is a *** book
which covers the course material so closely that there are no
printed lecture notes for this module. Students are strongly
advised to obtain a copy of this book.

- The study guide contains a week-by-week plan of reading from
the course textbook (available shortly).
- Coursework for this module comprises
two sequential parts.
- The gzipped, tar distribution contains full sources for
the practical work. It include the sources, as used in our
own course, for cacti, dinero, linpack, as well as the
LaTeX sources of all practical documentation. It will be
available shortly.
