Score: EPCC 14 - Pollock (I) 10
The Pleasance saw the team's first victory in division 5 and despite
JR just sitting outside the court instead of thrashing another victim.
Accumulation of more and more experience together with the players'
skill promises a prosperous future.
- Vivek showed strong and impressive performance after last week's
disappointing defeat. The long match over 5 sets proved that he left
the consequences of the long Christmas break behind him.
- Thomas Z. played a tight match with his opponent neither being impressed
by sharply hit serves nor weakening physically during the long ralleys.
The match took around 40 minutes and 5 tight sets with Thomas snatching
victory.
- Thomas - the Ironman - Schreiber was next. With a new racket he
seems to be stronger than ever. Mentally up to his best he didn't
allow his opponent to distract him through weired breaks between the
sets. Strong and determined he finished off the match in straight sets
without sweating too much. Definetely a performance that is worth the
player of the match award.
- Ana - Goldi - Goldenberg played only her second league match and
was already on the brink of victory. She only lost 7:9 in the 5th set
and rumours suggested that it was the Ironman's decision (that one of
her serve's was a fault) that costed her the match. Commentators were
convinced that there is a new talent coming up.
- After having delivered last week's only victory, Jose had a
tough oppenent this time. Observers doubted that this was Pollock's
true number 5. Nevertheless, Jose tried to resist courageously but
finally had to concede in straight sets.
Player of the Match Award: Thomas S., for another iron
performance.
