1 Using MLWorks interactively

1.2 Starting up the MLWorks interactive environment

Start the MLWorks interactive environment with the mlworks script. You can find this script in the bin subdirectory of your MLWorks installation. The script evaluates the contents of the file .mlworks in your home directory and then starts up the windowing environment. See "The MLWorks start-up file" on page 24 for more on .mlworks.

The mlworks script takes several optional command-line arguments. See the man page for full details. Some of the more interesting options: -mono declares that MLWorks should use a monochrome window color scheme instead of the standard multi-colored one; passing -tty forces MLWorks to run in TTY mode instead of using the windowing environment.
