Participants-Who should we target and why ?

It would be ideal if our research could be general enough and cover every possible type of education, higher education, high school, industrial training, continuing education, and every possible subject. But each category of education that might be of interest to our research have different requirements as far as pre-requisites, learning environment, equipment, pacing, cognitive burden and communication are concerned. We don't believe it is possible to make such a wide generalisation within our research domain . If such a generalisation was to be assumed, we might end up applying the same principles to totally different scopes. We don't expect a high school environment to be the same as an university environment, or to a business training centre. Obviously they all have a common denominator, but this is not what our research proposal is about, we here intend to investigate a medium/media as a possible environment for Distance Computer-Mediated Education, and not different types of education and their similarities.

On deciding on what style of education we would target in our research we had to take into account issues such as accessibility to information, duration of the course and Internet/WWW connectivity.
